As we've said, we like revolutionary thinkers, we need 'em.
Another way that we support our community and work toward a brighter future is by supporting community partners who value the same things we do. We also donate to a few different organizations that work toward preserving these values and this little place we call planet earth. Here are a few links and the missions of those community partners and organizations:

  • The Mission of The Sierra Club Foundation is to advance the preservation and protection of the natural environment by empowering the citizenry, especially democratically based grassroots organizations, with charitable resources to further the cause of environmental protection. www.sierraclub.org
  • Hoyt Arboretum is Portland's global garden in the wild, where they grow and exhibit trees and plants from around the world while educating our community and conserving vitally important plant bio-diversity. www.hoytarboretum.org
  • The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive. www.nature.org
  • OSPIRG's mission is to deliver persistent, result-oriented public interest activism that protects consumers, encourages a fair, sustainable economy, and fosters responsive, democratic government. www.ospirg.org
  • Greenpeace is an independent, campaigning organization, which uses nonviolent, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems, and to force the solutions, which are essential to a green and peaceful future. Greenpeace's goal is to ensure the ability of the earth to nurture life in all its diversity. www.greenpeace.org
  • Portland's community radio station KBOO has been on the air since 1968. The station's mission is to serve groups in its listening area who are underrepresented on other local radio stations and to provide access to the airwaves for people who have unconventional or controversial tastes and points of view. It broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week. www.kboo.org

We track and compile and research on the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of alternative health care advocates for appropriate healthcare public policy. www.ahacseattle.org/
  • Environment Oregon: We all want clean air, clean water and open spaces. But it takes independent research and tough-minded advocacy to win concrete results for our environment, especially when powerful interests stand in the way of environmental progress. That's the idea behind Environment Oregon. We focus exclusively on protecting Oregon's air, water and open spaces. We speak out and take action at the local, state and national levels to improve the quality of our environment and our lives. www.environmentoregon.org/
